Not Letting Life Pass Me By

“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives”. – Annie Dillard

Since my son, Joseph, entered the world, photography has taken over my world. Inspired By Joseph was born from the daily photo journal I began when I was 12 weeks pregnant back in January 14 and has continued from then on. You can see many of these photos in my gallery.

People have said that my experience and personality mean I could do this for a living so I’ve decided to do just that! For me, it isn’t about trying to capture that perfect smile but more about authentically representing you and your loved ones whatever that looks and feels like. And that includes those of you who HATE getting your photograph taken!

Giving back (or paying forward as I like to call it!) is a very important part of my life. I am a governor at Piper Hill High School in Wythenshaw, which is an outstanding school catering for students with significant learning difficulties.

I am also Trust Board Director for the Piper Hill Learning Trust and am also a member of the Learning Advisory Group for the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

A big part of Inspired By Joseph is giving back, so a contribution from each booking will go towards 52 lives, a charity which looks to change someone's life every week of the year. It fits with my belief that people are good and if we work together we can change lives for the better.

Exciting times

I first fell in love with photography when I was promoted in work five years ago (as a senior marketing role for Manchester Airport Group) and my husband told me to treat myself so I bought my first SLR camera. Instantly I became hooked on recording happiness, love, joy and romance and it wasn't long til I found friends and family asking me to take photos at special events. It was then I decided to set up a unique Oldham Family Photography business, offering you more for your money, including making you a better photographer!
